i am a self-confessed avid sony user. when it comes to electronics, i only have confidence in the brand. i have bought lots of their offerings from tv, digital still & video cameras, gaming consoles, mobile phones, and laptop. but lately, it seems that their quality has deteriorated. now i'm doubting whether i should still buy sony. here's why:
- sony cybershot h7: i love the features right from its 15x optical zoom (pampaparazzi) to the remote control function. but i encountered a problem with the shutter button. sometimes it will act up and won't function, making me miss so many important moments. i also get more blurred photos here and it has a hard time focusing! ugh.
- sony bloggie: the date won't set properly! everytime i turn it on, it's freakin' february 1, 2010. 2011 na, geez! it messes up my chronological filing system for videos which I cannot remember when i took. grr!
- sony ericsson c902: i bought this because of the 5mp camera, but I'm not that impressed.
- pink sony vaio cs23: i'm quite satisfied with the performance given the simplistic software demands of my job. but lately, the fan is making a very weird and loud noise and it's annoying me (and my roomies)! i googled for possible causes and found out that the cs series really has a fan problem, and sony usa services units less than 2 years old for free. sony philippines charges a fee. boo!
- sony playstation 3: busted disk drive won't spin. old age? but it's only 2 years old!
so you see, i have 3 sony products which will simultaneously take a vacation at sony service center (vaio, ps3, & bloggie). should have been 4, had i not given the h7 to my brothers. argh!
in fairness to sony, it has served me well with my cybershot p100, which lasted a good 5 years till it died due to overuse? hehe. pic quality is very good. my first digicam, my first love. oh, and the 29" big arse crt tv is still alive after 8 years. no malfunction. noice. still, 2 out of 7 ain't gonna wing it. time to give them other brands a chance.

My baby PS3 is celebrating her 4th year next month. :)
be open minded in buying other brands like Canon for cameras, Asus for laptops, LG or Samsung for TVs. :)

i am very open minded na - wa na budget for sony! :P and so palpak diba? but... parang ayaw ko ng asus? shet, but because vaio laptops look much more glamorous. sorry ang babaw. hehe. mac na lang (basta sagot ng opis). :)
