W(a)T(son's)F!

first of all, merry christmas everyone!

kaso, hindi masaya ang entry ko. i want to vent lang about watson's. i'm sure you know this store, it's practically everywhere! when it first came out, i was so happy... imagine, so many kikay stuff at such affordable prices. and one-stop shop talaga siya... but really, i have several horror stories that my mom asked why i still buy there. let's start with the most recent one...

incident # 1. the lost smac
last december 24 (yes, paskong-pasko, nabuwiset ako), i went to watson's pharmacy in riverbanks, and bought medicine. being an sm advantage cardholder since its conception, i am already used to taking out 2 cards (my hsbc credit card and smac) whenever i purchase from sm or its partner establishments. on that particular day, i distinctly remember taking out the 2 cards and placing it on basket # 8. when my purchase arrived, the saleslady only gave me back my hsbc card, so i asked where my smac was. ang sabi, "ma'am, isa lang po ang nilagay niyong card." WHAT THE HELL??! i know i put 2 cards, and in fact, my smac is not in my wallet, so i am VERY VERY 200% SURE that i put both cards in the basket. what ticked me off is that they were very masungit about it and pinapalabas nila na ako ang mali, they were NOT APOLOGETIC or DID NOT OFFER TO LOOK FOR IT. they kept saying that i only put one card, and if i had put 2 cards, they would have punched it in their cash register. but I KNOW FOR A FACT that i put my smac, PERIOD. ansusungit! BUWISET.

and so i went to customer service and complained my ass off. the girl said i had to pay for replacement. ano??? because of incompetence of other people, i had to pay? hay naku, galit na galit talaga ako... to appease me, the girl said, why don't i wait for a customer to give back my smac before i replace it... i was appalled, and asked "you mean, may history na ang watson's sa ganyang mix-up?!" and the girl apologetically said, "yes, ma'am."

and.so.therefore.

incident # 2. wrong price
i have been planning to buy the hot iron curler for some time now, and since i was to attend two weddings and have a 70s presentation this december, i scouted for one, and ended up of course at watson's. i asked the saleslady how much it is, she swiped it in the price tag inquiry thingee and told me P499. goodie, cheap enough... when i paid for it though, it was actually P599. ano ba!!! i just didn't know about their policy that if their price tag inquiry thingee put out the wrong price, they will give something back (ay, hindi ako sure, basta dapat tama ung price nila). di naman ako nagreklamo, P100 lang naman, but still. e pano kung cash ang pambayad ko and i'm out??? ARGH.

incident # 3. the medicine mix-up
there have been news going around that watson's personnel are not really pharmacists, and i think i believe this. i was buying medicine at watson's gateway last month and proceeded with the transaction. i didn't notice that i paid more than 50% more of its usual price coz i always purchase with my credit card and just signed the receipt without thinking (okay, my fault there)... when i got home, i realized that the saleslady gave me the wrong medicine and charged me for it! and what's bad about it is that it costs 50% higher than my medicine! WTF!

incident # 4. absolute incompetence
this tops all stories actually, another proof that watson's personnel are not really pharmacists. i was buying medicine a year ago, and for some reason, they couldn't freaking read the prescription from my doctor. the girl went to their columnar notebook and tried to look for the medicine. she said she has several HUNCHES on what my doctor wrote. medyo kinabahan na ako dito, dapat bang dito talaga ako bumili??? until finally, she asked me...

"ma'am, para saan po ba, pampalaglag o pang-colon cancer?"

anak ng. NONE OF THE ABOVE! give me that freakin' prescription and i was out in a flash.
